Review of Gamemasterz New Interface

Right I said I would do a review of Gamemasterz.org last few posts ago, so I've finially got time to sift through all of the site and have come up with a few suggestions to make the site alot more user friendly.

Now, down to Improvements yet to be made:
  • Site needs a homepage, the current one is out of date with the sites current style. A Huge FORUM button would also help to bring you to the index of the forum straight away too.
  • The Reply buttons could be made a tad bigger too. Some of us net-users are truly blind :P
  • Signatures..massive pet hate of mine, I would allow image signatures, but I would Limit the sizes to about max 150pixels in height. Its a forum for information, if we want to showcase art we make a thread for that.
  • Reduce the amount of forum sections you have. Not totally but some could be melded into 1 forum, or you could have sub forums, it just makes the site look more organized and professional.
  • Get rid of players that cause trouble repeatedly, nuff said, they had their chance, don't bend over backwards, the community will be better off in the long run.
  • Keep up the new style and run more with it, it is good atm, much better than it was, but it could be so much better.
  • Add more Graphics, custom ones if possible, encourage your community artists.
  • Get rid of Bet Dueling, end off, its wrong in so many ways.
  • Bring back card of the week :P
  • Keep the tournaments going, but add more diversity into them, themes etc.
Otherwise keep up the good work Egypt and NameK, hopefully we will all be working together someday. :)

Just A Few things I want Cleared Up

Right, I've noticed the fact I've ranted a lot on a certain campaign of mine, however, I do Have some issues with another side of that. Now, seeing as certain members of this organization have been civil with me I will be civil with them in my Questions. Now VastaconINT's ranking system, doesnt seem very, clear to me, it seems a little vague to the point I'm a tad suspicious. Now don't all go grabbing torches and screaming like village idiots at them. But I would like to be informed of their Ranking system, eg, Enforcer, Emissary, Agent thing. Maybe it means nothing, but I doubt that. Also, if other Teams have ranking systems, i would like to be informed of them too, I'm greatly interested in them and would like to elarn more, where by force, or by being given the information.

Also, a reminder to Truthhunter, I do realise who you are now, and I'd like a written sincere apology to me asap or your identity will be revealed on my Blog in due time, with proof.

And I would like to make a purchase of the GMDestruction account from Doomlord7, we will discuss that in private, but I'm greatly interested in that account and all its spoils.

Now that I Have those things out of the way, I'd like to announce an indepth analysis of the New Setup of Gamemasterz website, and I'm looking at the current banners for the Banner competition. Not sure yet, But ill post which Banner I think would suit the site the best.

So thanks for reading all, hope to be posting soon, Good Night, Good Morning, Good Day and Good Afternoon.

To Answer a TruthHunter

Truthhunter, a fellow blogger, and clearly someone walled in by figures. Need I point out that the website you used to conduct your research is based on the Site Traffic, Ads revenue and the 'Net Worth' which my naive friend is total bull. My reviews are based on the Community and Looks of a site, if I wanted to take into account what you have mentioned, I would have. Now you can comment all you like here, but please, make sure your arguing a point against me and not making a whole new point for yourself to set a basis on. Also Clearly you are a member of DuelCity who loves that site very much, pity.
Moving on to argument Number 2, I was Banned for registering as GMEngine, as you can see in the screenshot, so fair for me to say that they are Banning members because that was an official Reason to ban me, however if what you are saying is true, could it be DuelCity are giving false reason to Ban people? Isn't that like, Oh I don't know, WORSE? I mean nitpicking members is really going to get a community to grow. Also Lying to your members is pretty bad as far as Website Community ownership goes.
I admire you for trying to pick flaws in my Blog, Someone was bound to, however, your arguments are even more flawed than my so called 'false' information that you have tried to saddle me with.

Ban School Episode - The Notorious G.M.P. (GM Player)

Now I wonder on certain policy of websites these days, especially those who have communities. Now a degree of responsibility seems to take hold on all of these sites, most do, but some take nanny'ing to a ridiculous degree. Now I would give a go at many sites for nitpicking, even the top sites in my review, no matter how well they do i do have problems with them. However as I mentioned in an earlier Post, DuelCity are now banning members on the Basis that 'GM' (a popular beginning to alot of names in the YO2 World) is in their name. Now here is actual proof, provided by myself of the degree which duelcity wish to segregate people.

Yes this is what happened when I tried to join DuelCity as my oso favorite theme, under the name GMEngine. I mean? why bother, isn't that just a little Too Much? Where are they going to stop. Or Hell whats next, Ban people with non-YuGiOh Related Names? Get real people you can't make a community grow when you close down 1 third of the entire Games population from your site just down to their names. Now after watching this latest episode, I've officially had enough, I now encourage people to stop using DuelCity down to the basic facts we have infront of us, and these are as follows:

-- A Nice Rant --
  • Duelcity has a history of trying to control its members to an unhealthy degree.
  • Duelcity's Moderation staff currently edits posts for no constructive reason, just because they can.
  • DuelCity's Staff will tell you NOT to talk about topics.
  • DuelCity will catch you when your new to the game and basically stop you from making a name for yourself in the Game.
  • DuelCity actually banned over 80 people in 1 Day alone for a dispute that could have been solved by negociation.
  • DuelCity is basically Isolated themselves from the rest of the community.
  • DuelCityElite's as is which is the New DuelcityElite(created after TexcyBurkehart broke away from Soulless replacing I with a small case L after JJASH13 and WingedKuribo of VastaconINT told her to do so due to DCE's current bad repuation.) - {Information provided from JJASH13 from Vastacon.com-Shoutbox}
  • DuelCity now has "Junior Moderators", handpicked members of DuelCityElite, rather than Qualified People like most other sites.
  • Its card database is sluggish, and based on looks now rather than Robust Streamlined Searches.

Here is a message to the Administrator of DuelCity.com, your site is currently stagnant, whatever you try now is too late to save the websites reputation, the community doesn't view you as the number One Site. Not even close.

So in my Infamous Axiomical words i bring you the...

END TO CORRUPTION
CAMPAIGN

WE NEED YOU!

Website Review, January '09

Within the Online, many communities have grown and flourished, yet have also failed due to lack of funding or resources. So this is basically a breakdown of the best websites in the community.

Duel Academy
Still one of the finest websites going, always friendly and helpful on any visit. The card database is still up to scratch and the moderating staff is still hard working. However the lack of overall community I've noticed is making me wonder is the site really counted as a community site now or is it simply a resource site, time will tell on these concerns. However, it still tops the table as the number One Website.

Vastacon.com
Well it seems alot can happen in a month. This jump for this Website is down purely to website activity. The Rankings and Events are a nice touch too, but other than that not much overall content. However there seems to be a major update coming to the site soon, which should be interesting to watch. Anyway, check it out if you want a chatty and intersting shoutbox.

Ranking: 2nd

V3rticles DeckZone
V3rt, is reliable as ever, and unfortunately in the same spot. V3rts is basically the same as ever, still a more active community than ever.. His MP list could still use some regular updating however.
Still a good site with nice folk on there, I'd advise a check out.

Admin: V3rt

Ranking : 3rd

Gamerspride
Run fairly and justly, good tournament provider, Prize support is impeccable. Layout of the site seems to be a problem within the community causing a lack of major growth in the site, therefor it has slipped through the cracks of my reviews and lands here.

Admin: Amphibianbeast

Ranking : 4th

Gamemasterz
Nothing much has changed here, except the site has slipped even further down, it needed to reform and it hasnt. Same crowded atmosphere caused by its layout and nothing majorly interesting of late.

Admin: egyptianspiritqu, Doomlord7

Ranking : 5th

Duelcity.com
Well, it seems when things couldn't get worse, they managed it. Due to recent events, I've noticed that they have banned all members that sign up with 'GM' in their name. I mean whats the point? Riddiculas if you ask me.

Well thats my Job done, you might aswell decide yourself.
